Ping Command | How to use ping command options

Ping command is command prompt command. Ping command is used to check connectivity between t source computer or a IP device to reach a destination computer or IP device. The ping command is used as a simple way to verify that a computer can communicate over the network with another computer or network device.

The ping command sends a Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Echo Request messages to the destination computer and waiting for a response. How many of those responses are returned, how many are lost and how long it takes for them to return, are the important information that the ping command provides.

For example, when you see that there are no responses when pinging a network switch, router, it means that the device is offline and you need to resolve the issue
